Diagonals is a series of seven videos responding to Dan Flavin's series of 'diagonals'. I believe Flavin made seven of these, the first one being The Diagonal of May 25, 1963 (to Constantin Brancusi). This one was gold, and fixed to the wall at a 45 degree angle, which the artist declared “the diagonal of personal ecstasy”. Using clothing and ritual to form a 45 degree elevation on the chair I attempt, at various stone circles, to create my own 'diagonals' through the lens of Iris Murdoch's thinking about Eros as a face of desire.
